Negeri Sembilan is one of the 13 states in Malaysia, located on the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Its name, which means "Nine States" in Malay, originates from the nine separate districts or states that once made up the region during its early history.
Seremban is the state capital and the largest city in Negeri Sembilan. It serves as the administrative, economic, and cultural center of the state.
Negeri Sembilan is unique in Malaysia for its traditional Malay-style monarchy, where the state is ruled by a Yamtuan Besar (or Yang di-Pertuan Besar), elected from among the state's nobility, rather than a Sultan.
The state is known for its rich cultural diversity, with a mix of Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous communities living harmoniously. The majority of the population is Malay, and the state is home to various indigenous Orang Asli groups.
